KeepnTrack Tip of the Week
For the week of 02.02.09
Operator Set-Up
Overview
Operators is a menu choice in KeepnTrack. Each school/district may have as many operators as necessary. Operators are made unique through Login IDs and a Password. They define the privileges of any one individual or logged-in machine. For example, a school administrator may have different Admin privileges than a school staff person. And the staff person may have different privileges than a volunteer that may only have access to the Kiosk interface.
Creating a New Operator
In the Operators menu click on Create a new Operator record under Tools. Enter the information that is applicable for the operator. The fields in blue indicate required fields. The Login Id field needs to be unique, and we recommend this be the same as their email address.
For Facility and Account level operators indicate which Facilities they will administer by checking the appropriate boxes. Account level operators have access to all facilities by default.
As well, Permissions only apply to Facility and Account level operators. Account level operators have access to all Permissions whether or not the boxes are checked.
The Admin and Kiosk Permissions define whether an Operator has access to the various Administrative and/or Kiosk functions. Check the boxes to allow access to that particular function. The Devices Permissions allow customization of scanner and printers.

The fields available in Operators allows a school/district to create as many unique individuals or computers as necessary to successfully manage their KeepnTrack system.
