Badge Printing Update
Overview
On December 7th, 2009 there was a software update to KeepnTrack version 2.4.7. Since then when an operator first logs into the Kiosk, the system presents a dialog, which will tell KeepnTrack whether there is a printer attached to the Kiosk, what type of printer is being used and what type of paper is in the printer.

If the user does not see this dialog box when they login to the system, the same settings can be reached by either the link Printer Settings found under the main Kiosk window next to the Technical Support information or by typing in the command line /printersettings.
The Printer section contains four options.
-
No Printer - Kiosks that have no printer attached.
-
LabelWriter 400 - The standard printer for KeepnTrack printing. This is the DYMO Labelwriter 400 printer. If the user has a DYMO 330 or a DYMO 450, choose the LabelWriter 400 as the printer.
Please note that the DYMO 450 printer is on the list of printers but it does require special setup and installation methods. If you have a DYMO 450 printer or plan on purchasing, please call the Technical Support number, 800-320-5830 for setup and installation.
-
LabelWriter Twin Turbo - This is the DYMO Twin Turbo printer that has two printer heads housed in the same printer. There are two trays that it prints from, a left and right roll. Contact KeepnTrack Technical Support for more information on this printer type and setup.
-
Dual LabelWriter 400's - This is a special setup for the DYMO Labelwriter 400's that can be setup for some Kiosks. Select this option only if you have two separate LabelWriter 400 printers attached to a single computer running a KeepnTrack Kiosk.

The Paper section has two options.
-
Yellow Labels (30256) - This is the standard label type for the KeepnTrack system. It is a yellow label with adhesive on the back.
-
Continuous Wide Paper - This is a nonstandard type paper that is white with no adhesive backing.
Make sure to use the proper paper selection to the paper in the printer. If an Operator selects the improper paper for their printer the alignment will be off or the print jobs may fail to complete and the printer will need to have the job cancelled and the printer may need to be power cycled. Please select the appropriate paper to your printer.
Self Service Kiosks
For Self Service Kiosks there is an additional step. When an Operator logs into a kiosk or selects the Printer Settings link they will be required to enter in a valid KeepnTrack login Id and password for that account. Once a valid login Id and password have been entered, the Operator will then be able to set the badge printer and paper preferences.
Once the printer settings have been saved, the Operator will not need to set these again unless the computer's internet browser has it's cookies deleted. This can happen through routine maintenance, security settings, or a computer restart. If this does occur, the dialog overlay printer settings box will open again and ask for the Operator to make those selections again.
