It seems like every month there is a campus shooting somewhere in America. In fact, there were 15 campus shootings in 2016 alone.
The Media always seems to ask questions on how the shooting could have been stopped. Finally, we have a story of how a campus shooting was prevented.

On February 2, 2017, a student at Troy High School in Fullerton, California over-heard two classmates talking about a plan for a school shooting. The two classmates were talking about carrying out an attack at a school athletic event. The student heard the two classmates talk about the types of firearms they would use and said they wanted the shooting to be “bigger than Columbine,” according to KTLA.com.

“The person that reported this incident to the law enforcement, whether something did happen, didnt happen, this person saved countless lives,” Fullerton Police Sergeant Jon Radus said. ” Countless heartache for an unknown number of families.’

Once the security resource officer heard about this plot, officials took the two students into custody. The two students were investigated and it ends up that the two students were looking up details on past school shootings on the internet.

They two students were charged with making criminal threats and conspiracy to commit a felony. They are both currently in custody at the Orange Country Juvenile Hall.

Preventing school violence is what we all hope to hear more of.
